Installing Nokia Symbian Series 60 3rd Edition & 5th Edition Themes

If you have downloaded a theme file (i.e. content.sisx) successfully, but are experiencing installation problems, then please observe the following instructions:

  1. Immediately after purchasing and downloading your theme, you should receive installation instructions. If this is the case, please move to STEP 3. If you do not receive installation instructions, but have downloaded the theme file successfully, then please continue to STEP 2. If there is a problem during the installation process, then please see the notes at the end of this topic.

  2. Navigate to the downloaded theme .sisx file on the handset (i.e. New Messages. File Manager)

  3. Open & follow the installation instructions through to completion.

  4. Select the installed theme from the "Themes" category that can be found in the "Settings" root directory to complete the activation.

If you are experiencing problems during the installation process, then please make a note of exactly what steps you have been taking to install your file and the error messages you may have received. The majority of error messages during the installation process will detail the issue precisely. Common errors include:

  1. If you have insufficient memory to install your theme, firstly, check that you do not have numerous applications open at the same time. This can be done by pressing and holding the menu key. Close all unnecessary applications and try to install the theme again. If you receive another error message regarding insufficient memory, then you will need to remove/uninstall any unwanted files to make space for your theme application, or alternatively use a new memory card with sufficient space.

  2. If you receive messages asking to “contact the administrator”,“contact the supplier” or “certificate error”, then this problem is usually attributed to the time/date settings of your handset. Please ensure that your handset time/date settings are correct before installing your theme.

Removing Nokia Symbian Series 60 3rd Edition & 5th Edition Themes

Please be aware that Pixelthumb theme applications are not intended to be backed up & restored. You must be absolutely certain that you want to completely remove the theme application before following the steps detailed below. This process is irreversible.

  1. Ensure that the theme you wish to completely remove from your handset is NOT currently in use.

  2. Navigate to your “Application Manager” and locate the theme you wish to remove.

  3. Use the “Uninstall” or “Remove” option in the menu to delete the theme application.

  4. If you imported the file to your phone/card memory, navigate to the installation file and use the “Delete” option in the menu.

Installing a theme

There are three methods to install mobile themes on your Sony Ericsson mobile phone; Via USB cable, Bluetooth and over the air. Please observe the following instructions:

If you are installing a theme via USB cable:
  1. Connect your mobile phone to your PC/Mac using the USB Cable.

  2. Transfer your theme file to the “Themes” folder on your handset, using either Sony's desktop software (i.e. PC Companion), or navigating directly with the handset via “My computer”.

  3. Navigate on your handset to “Themes”, either through your settings options, or via the gallery/media folder.

  4. Select your added theme to activate it.

If you are installing a theme Via Bluetooth:
  1. Activate Bluetooth on your mobile phone and your computer.

  2. Right click your theme file on the computer, and select “Send to” and then “Bluetooth device”.

  3. Select your device name and follow the instructions to transfer the file to your handset.

  4. The theme is often transferred to your “Messages” folder, if not, navigate on your handset to “Themes”, either through your settings options, or via the gallery/media folder.

  5. Select your added theme to activate it.

If you are installing a theme over the air:
  1. After you have purchased a theme from your content store, the file is downloaded and often installed immediately. Otherwise, the store may produce a link to download the content.

  2. The theme is often transferred to your “Messages” folder, if not, navigate on your handset to “Themes”, either through your settings options, or via the gallery/media folder.

  3. Select your added theme to activate it.
